Amazing place to stay! Bruce and Cathy go above and beyond to make you feel welcome in their beautiful home. Their breakfast is delicious and their hospitality superb. Their home is in the woods and is absolutely picturesque, with views to the Rockies. A true Canadian experience from beginning to end. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Beautiful spot and great hospitality from Bruce and Cathy. They were welcoming of our dog as well which is great when it’s difficult to find nice dog friendly accommodations. The hot tub and fire pit are very nice amenities at this property. Would stay again for sure!

My partner and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and it was perfect. Beautiful, clean, cozy and romantic. Our hosts were so welcoming and made us feel like family with the exceptional hospitality. We appreciated all the small touches like the home baked goods and helping us with our things getting settled in the suite, they really went above and beyond! This really is a 5 star airbnb and the whole property is gorgeous. We loved the fireplace and use of their hot tub. I think its important to note that this property is located outside of Golden and you do need a good vehicle to get up the hill in the winter! You may also want to bring bottled water if you aren't used to water in the country (its perfectly distilled, just tastes different) Thank you so much Bruce and Cathy for the amazing weekend and your gracious hospitality! We hope to come back sometime.

Our stay at Golden Acres Mountain Lodge was a real pleasure. This log cabin dream home was the perfect cozy retreat after lapping Kicking Horse Resort nearby in town. The hot tub & heated bathroom tile floors work wonders when outside temps drop to below -20C. We were 100% satisfied with the immaculate accommodations at the Golden Acres Mountain Lodge, but the real treat were our heartwarming & friendly hosts, Bruce & Cathy. From the homemade treats for the slopes to the fresh robes for the trek to the hot tub, we sure felt at home in Golden, BC. Highly recommend snagging this place to stay if you are swinging through town.

Wow, where do I even begin?! Our stay at Golden Acres was the best that my partner and I have had yet. Hands down. Anywhere in the world. The home that Bruce and Cathy have created is simply spectacular. Every single detail of the space has been thoughtfully planned and the result is a space of warmth and comfort and every amenity you might need. A basket of slippers at the front door, robes to use for the hot tub, a homemade ice skating rink (including some ice skates to borrow) in the backyard, hundreds of DVDs and boxes of games, homemade treats left for us in the fridge ... Everything was perfect. We loved staying in the suite and were beyond comfortable and cozy. All of the above was terrific, but what made it all so special was the thoughtfulness and the care that Bruce and Cathy put into their home and our stay. They gave us recommendations for a terrific snowshoe exploration (ask about Hippieville!), prepared a wonderful breakfast each morning (an absolute treat - Cathy is a WONDERFUL chef (be sure to book your stay in the main house for this perk)), welcomed us for a lovely Christmas dinner and some wine on Christmas Eve, and above all were just delightful to spend time with. We cannot wait to come back. This is such a special place and it is just magical when you get to play around in the beautiful surrounding area - and then come "home" to this.
Homemade Breakfast
Look forward to Cathy, one of your two hosts, to cook you one of the best homemade breakfasts ever! Then, sit by the window and enjoy an equally as good view of the Rocky Mountains. A rare and unique experience, only find with us!
As well as her amazing cooking, Cathy is also an avid baker and will have lots of baked goods and treats for you to enjoy during your stay.
